There are two types of ratings - rankings in the club:

  • λ ratings - rankings, and;
  • ℵ ratings - rankings.

λ ratings - rankings

λ ratings - rankings are calculated in all Blitz, Rapid, and Classical tournaments.

1. How to calculate λ ratings

Suppose player A has a λ rating of λa, and player B has a λ rating of λb.

The probability of A's winning is calculated by the formula:

The K-factor of A is:

The K-factor of B is:

The new λ rating of A is:

The new λ rating of B is:

with Per(A), Per(B) is the number of points that A, B respectively achieved in a match.

  • If A wins against B, then Per(A) = 1
  • If A loses to B, then Per(A) = 0
  • If A ties B, then Per(A) = 1/2 = 0,5

Note:

  • Per(A) + Per(B) = 1
  • The λ ratings is always greater or equal than 1400 ( ≥ 1400 ), so the K-factor is always in the range [20;100]

1. How to calculate ℵ ratings

Suppose player A has a ℵ rating of ℵa, and player B has a ℵ rating of ℵb.

The β-factor of A is:

The β-factor of B is:

The probability of A's winning is calculated by the formula:

The K-factor of A is:

The K-factor of B is:

The bonus point for A is:

The bonus point for B is:

The new ℵ rating of A is:

The new ℵ rating of B is:

with Per(A), Per(B) is the number of points that A, B respectively achieved in a match.

  • If A wins against B, then Per(A) = 1
  • If A loses to B, then Per(A) = 0
  • If A ties B, then Per(A) = 1/2 = 0,5

Note:

  • Per(A) + Per(B) = 1
  • The ℵ ratings is always greater or equal than 0 ( ≥ 0 ), so the K-factor is always in the range [17^1,6;7^1,6]
