Issues with revamped app

Hello. Thanks to the developers for making this app and putting continuous efforts into improving it. However, there are a few issues I had been facing since early March with the revamped version.

  1. For Daily Games, the dragging of pieces has become more difficult as the slider to move from one game to another is now easily triggered. So when I try to drag a piece the whole board moves as well which didn't happen in the earlier version before the revamp.
  2. For Live Games, the post-match popup featuring the new game and rematch buttons makes responding to rematch requests difficult. The rematch request now appears at the top part behind the popup. So, to respond to the rematch, I would have to close the popup, which is inconvenient as I did not have to do that in the pre-revamp version. (I wrote this before a new update that seemed to have fixed the issue of clicking the button but still the popup itself is a little annoying and it would be great if the rematch request appears on top of the popup.)
  3. In the past few days, my Live game connection keeps getting disrupted and the timer takes away 5-10 seconds irregularly. It might be something to do with connectivity but my internet connection is fast as normal so I think it's something with the app.
  4. In this thread around 52 days ago, @Milan agreed to change the way the draw request appears on the app. It does not seem to have changed because the draw request still hides opponent info.

For 3, with the current epidemic, there in an increase in overall internet traffic, so pretty much every site is experiencing more lag than normal. Until things get back to normal, increased lag should be expected.

Hey @theywantmymoolah - thanks for these reports. I ll create tickets and reply item by item

  1. Sounds annoying, will be ticketed
  2. You are right, will be ticketed
  3. This is related to increased traffic on live server and app is not to blame here. Our live server team works hard to make sure this doesn't happen again
  4. You are right. I did ticket this but its being overlooked by staff that looked more important. I will reprioritize
