Ulvestad Variation

(PAWN to b5)

  • In Italian opening Black's mains weakness is F7 pawn ( Bec of Bc4) and Ng5 exploit just that
  • We are able to play Ng5 bec blacks Dark square bishop is still inside and black cant castle

NOW LETS SEE WHERE SHOULD WE MOVE OUR BISHOP

1. Bxb5

  • In this variation ( Bxb5 ) Blacks get rapid development and can easily generate an attack on white if white is not fully aware
  • After H6 white has 2 options ( look at the board ) but Nf3 is bad bec again we move the safe piece twice and in between that black can rapidly develop his pieces ( look at the board ) . So Qf3 is the only move bec we get a counter attack on black

2. Bb3 ( misake )

  • Bb3 is a huge positional mistake black gets more piece activity and more space and can easily launch an attack

3. Bf1 ( best option )

  • This is the best way to play UNVESTED VARIATION
  • Black lost all his initiative
  • Queen's are of the board
  • White is up a pawn plus more developed pieces
