In the opening white gets material up and top priority should be to castle and get the queen safe. As for black he should try to trap the white queen or keep the white queen outside of play. He shouldn't hunt the queen away from h8 if he's not certain that he can win the queen. If he missed the a-pawn was hanging when he played Bb7 it would at least prove he had the right idea with trying to trap the queen, although it didn't work out. However Qb7 instead of Bb7 would be a big mistake since trading the piece he should try to trap isn't a good idea and especially not when behind in material.
JagdeepSingh vs Bronco70

Thank you Jag for the insight during the game and analysis (with the kind words) afterwords. I'll comment more when I have the time.
With Jags Q taking my R I saw it a bit late but didn't give up hope because I struggle with moving my rooks around (don't know safe and proper moves for them it seems). So I tried to "kick" his queen around while trying to develop pieces before Jag since he brought his Queen out early (I figured that would be my only chance to gain some momentum while controlling more squares...trying to make the game more "equal" and not get blown away ;) )

Move 4...Bg4 was a mistake. I was thinking Jag was going to castle King side. Then I was would exchange bishop for knight with him taking with his g pawn .I was too busy thinking TOO FAR AHEAD and forgot his Q was sitting there to capture my bishop in return. For some silly reason I was worried and was "playing" against Jags rating and not the BOARD, (that is one thing I learned from this game) so I felt I had to play very aggressive and it was a mistake because on move ...5 Nxe5 I have 2 HANGING pieces (3 if you count my pawn on b7 after 6 Qd5).
I finally started to settle and just play the board. And I actually did see the tactic that Jag was trying to set up at 10 Bg5 (sneaky sneaky). Then I tried to squeeze Jags queen while trying to develop pieces.
It turned out to be a very fun game to me. Jag was kind enough to give insight on my moves (insight to moves 4-5 moves previous so as to be instructive and competitive at the same time).
Thank you Jag!

I just saw. In my move No. 8. much better was QxNe4. I will be 1 piece up as am still forking the Rook (a8) & now the Bishop (c4). Sometimes is good to go over & over your game (annotations). :)
Bronco70, we played to learn & benefit from each other.

(5. dxe5 Bxf3 6. gxf3 Be7 7. exd6 I get an extra pawn
what was wrong with 7.exf6 getting a piece.
Yup you are right. Below is how it is supposed to be. Looks like the variation i gave is not correct. Better is the variation in Red colour.
5.dxe5 BxNf3 6.gxNf3 Be7 (6..... Nd7 -Qd5 threat has been annulled as the it can do Nxe5- 7.Bxf7! KxBf7 8.e6+ Ke8 {8.... Kxe6 9.Qxb7 Na6 10.QxNa6} 9. exNd7) 7.f7xNe6
