One of Johnny's first (If not thee first) recording was called The Progressive Blues Experiment. Then the one called "Johnny WInter" came out. Those were some of the best blues recordings. During his rock n roll phase, my all time favorite rock album was called John Dawson Winter, III. This one is one of the best rock albums!!! Filled with great songs and great guitar solos and riffs, all played by one of the best rock bands ever. Have you heard these records?
I saw Johnny twice. Once during the JDW, III tour, in Orlando at the Orlando Sports Stadium. He played a full set plus 5 encores! Very lively stage show, the man was a firecracker on stage.
Next time I saw him was about 16 years ago. He did nuthin' but blues. Very good blues band, but not as exciting as the old days.
I just picked up a Johnny Winter album--what great Blues!
