Joining Beta Again and Again

Joining the beta doesn't seem to hold on my XP machine with Firefox 3.6.26. After each log in, I have to go to the invite email (if I want to use the new design) and click on the link again.

On my 64-bit W7 machine with Firefox 9 or 10, that is not a problem.

can we sticky this thread to the top of the forum, so we can easily find the URL if we have to drop out for one reason or another?

copy the url, kingpatzer, and save it in your 'documents' or email it to yourself.

(my thoughts).

*cough* bookmarks *cough cough*

Seriously though, bookmarks are great and an incredibly under-utilized tool by most people (always remember you can organize bookmarks into sub-folders if they get crowded). ctrl+n, click on the bookmark to set/unset beta, close the tab/window (depending on your browser), and you're ready to rock. Faster and smoother than cut and paste IMHO.

Agreed its a pain in the hind-quarters to change it back and forth, I frequently find myself forgetting to turn it back on, but its for the good of the team.

Cheers

I have a little of 4,000 bookmarks. I'm well aware of what they are and how to use them.

Bookmarking something that should be appearning as a button, pop-up or otherwise a prominent link on the group page to control functionality of the site, however, isn't what I use bookmarks for. I use them to link to permenant locations I want to remember.

I oddly don't have a book mark for the google mail account settings page either.

You have 4000 bookmarks? That's a seriously impressive number of permanent locations to remember. Kudos if you can track that many.

I didn't mean to offend you. It was just a suggestion.

Cheers.

XP is not supported by microsft anymore so do you need to worry about this issue?

Well, it is likely a browser version issue, rather than an OS issue anyway. That said, what is the market share for XP right now?

I just did a quick search and one of the articles claims XP at 48% of the desktop market towards the end of last year. That's a lot of potential customers you want to make sure not to to alienate; not sure if the site stats reflect that or not though.
