Knights vs. Bishops

Hey guys, in this forum, you can vote on which is better, a knight or a bishop? Please explain your choice so we can talk about it. Have fun!!!! :)

I prefer bishops because they are very useful in the endgames because they can stop past pawns and a knight takes too much time and is not useful.

BulletMatetricks

EQUAL BUT when the position is closed the knight is better. if there are pawns on both flanks of the board, then the bishop is better.

SourMongoose

I just have to appreciate the forking power of the knight in the middlegame, it has helped me win a lot of games.

Knights because they can fork really really well :).

BulletMatetricks

But bishops can also skewer and pin.

SourMongoose

Yes, but skewers are rare and pins rarely win material. Forks, on the other hand...

BulletMatetricks

lol this is more of an argument but knight forks arent really common in the higher levels.

snowrider12

Thats the point lol

SourMangoose in that tournament game i shouldn't have went for the attack when you played f6

How come?

snowrider12

Because higher rated players don't fall for it

BulletMatetricks

well actually falling for a sneaky knight fork trick is reall not that hard to see

rcchess123456

Ok ok
