Immy can't touch the fire hat, correct? He would get burned?

Typewriter is now closer to his hat, but CP tries to shoot ink at him as he goes to get his hat and slice him with the katana.

He can touch the hat, but not the fire wall it creates.

So what happens if he grabs the hat?

Ah. He does get burnt if he grabs the hat with his bare hands, yeah.

Does he have gloves? What if he tries to pick it up with his katana?

No gloves. He can't pick it up with his katana but he can move the hat's direction with his katana.

Would that change the direction of the firewall?

I do believe so.

Would my hat burn the ink?

Ha, I'm not sure what actually happens with that. If the ink hits the hat, no, but the fire should burn the ink.

I drop my hat in front of my feet and sidestep in case the ink still makes it through the firewall

You haven't gotten the fire hat yet, but you are closer to it than CP. 

I would get it without any issues, because Immy dived and I started running as soon as he dived. He was also just walking, because he "advanced"

That was a new action, once I reached my hat. That was a response to your katana + ink attack
