I just reloaded the page, and noticed something. All my daily games that have finished (even from a long time ago) have a notification under the "games" tab.
Launching new (web) notifications system
" Also, you may notice an increased number of "Club Activity" notifications, because unlike the old system that only sent a certain number of these notifications, the new one notifies you of each activity. You can control notifications you receive in your main "Settings" as well as for each of your Clubs on "Alert Settings" page."
So previously if there had been a lot of chat in club notes we would get a single alert. Are you now saying that we will get an alert for each missed note in a club?
I have received a huge number of alerts for clubs that I am not a member of. Also, after I click on the alert, and the page opens, the alert is still there. Some alerts when I click on them, it gives me an error message.
This is also happening to me, you need to click the notification once for each new note (when more than one) rather than once for each notes page with activity as before.
@mathsmaths0 How many games there are? Are you able to clear them manually?
Too many to count, and yes.

@BaronVonChickenpants No, those will still be aggregated, so you'll only get a single "Club X has a new note". Club News and Forum Topics notifications are not aggregated so you'll get a notification for every news/topic.

Ah, thats a great way to do it, thanks!
One suggestion, can clicking the "Club X has a new note" take you directly to the Notes section of that club rather than the club homepage?

That's a good point, thank you.
Same... deleting an alert does nothing. It just comes back
> I have received a huge number of alerts for clubs that I am not a member of.
@wayne_thomas Are you sure, I checked your notifications and I find that you only have 3, one is club join request and the other two are new comments?
> So previously if there had been a lot of chat in club notes we would get a single alert. Are you now saying that we will get an alert for each missed note in a club?
Yes, precisely.
Well, one alert that keeps refreshing after viewing. So 10 new notes requires 10 individual clicks on the same alert to clear it.

I clicked on "Clear Alerts" because I wasn't able to get rid of the alerts for the clubs that I have never been a member of by clicking on them. The Clear Alerts button works.
Dear Beta Users,
This is the third, and hopefully the last attempt to launch a new web notifications system. These are mostly under the hood changes which address some of the technical shortcomings of the old system, but they do affect the user experience in certain segments. Our Staff users have been using it for a long time, it is time that we switch all other users to the new system.
Since the last time, we have learned that there are many users with huge number of unread notifications, sometimes > 500. In order to improve readability, but also optimize response time, we introduced notifications limiting so that no more than 200 notifications are shown at once. As the user dismisses notifications, the rest will be loaded. Another important change in relation to maintenance is that all notifications older than 3 months are considered stale and will be deleted automatically.
Again, shouldn't happen, but don't panic if you come across some old notification. You can remove them manually by clicking on "x" on the right. You can also use "Clear All" if you want to get rid of all notifications. Also, you may notice an increased number of "Club Activity" notifications, because unlike the old system that only sent a certain number of these notifications, the new one notifies you of each activity. You can control notifications you receive in your main "Settings" as well as for each of your Clubs on "Alert Settings" page.
Please report any major issues you find and we will look into them. Thank you for your cooperation. 🙏
