Yeah, I'm a bit confused.

A piece that can jump m squares in 1 direction, then n squares along a perpendicular direction
(horizontal / vertical) is called a (m,n) leaper.
For example the classical chess knight is a (2, 1) leaper or an (1, 2) leaper.
