I can imagine the pairing algorithm for an Arena with equal number of players from two teams. More than two teams makes my head hurt thinking about the pairing algorithm...
However, an Arena format for two teams to play each other sounds fun!

well, why, I mean it would be just simple arena algorithm with one addition rule - do not pair teammates, that's it ![]()
Sure... agree do not pair teammates, but if you wanted to maintain a balance for the proportion of games played across teams that may be difficult.
I like this idea to be realised in some day future. I can add more: if player from each team will be unequal in number of players joined arena.
Example: One team A have strong player that plays fast and wins 10 of opponents of team B and team S, and make his team win. It will be like more real situation on the battle area.
I would imagine this would not be all that complex.
It would be a live arena tournament joined by clubs. Players from each club could join, and they would get paired only against players from other clubs.
Two clubs could play this as a club vs club arena match. Or a larger number of clubs could participate as a multi-club tournament. I think this could be very popular.
Idea is:
When players of teams play againts each other in a random(chosen by system nearest pairs) and gets points.
For example:
Team A player play against Team B, then Team Z, again Team B etc.
Team A player do not play against teammates from Team A.
At the end of arena team score calculated and results shown up.
Would be a great and fun team challenge.
