Hi guys, glad to see there is a pilot group here!   I agree with Cap, flyin is a chess game, just played on a prettier board.

I started flying in 2000 during my past life as a software engineer.  When the .com bust hit it gave me the excuse I needed to abolish office buildings and pursue flying full-time.

I flew for American Eagle out of Boston for several years as a First Officer in the Jungle Jet.  That was not a glamorous job, but I am so thankful for all I learned from the captains I flew with, and all of the amazing weather experience I got in the Northeast.

When I got the offer to leave that crappy weather and the worse schedules to fly corporate as captain in Phoenix, it took about an hour before I started packing.

I now fly a Beechjet and  Premier out of Sky Harbor.  I fly once or twice a week and spend the rest of the time at chess.com!

Howdy guys, thanks for inviting me into your group. I live in Casper Wyoming. I've been flying for pleasure since I was 17 years old (back in the 70's). I grew up in the Oklahoma panhandle (can you say crosswind landings?) and first solo'd a Cessna 140. I have a passion for tailwheel stuff. I bought a Cessna 152II out of the Teeterboro airport in NJ a few years ago and restored it back to new condition. I flew it awhile but sold it to a guy in South Carolina who flies jets for Micheline Tire Co.

Anyhow, thanks for a nice group;)

Just student here with few hours. I was a student in a highschool class designed by Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University for students who plan to attend the university. They also gave me college credits in that class. Currently I am in another program that allows me to finish two years in community college and the rest in Embry-Riddle. Its great how they have given me a list of all the courses I need.

I'm still not sure if I should do Commercial or Cargo flight.

It's either Freight or Walkin' Freight...pay's the same but you get free food for hauling peeps.

Then I guess I'll do Commercial :)

If you want to be technical, yes, you log that time.  If you start an aircraft and taxi with the intent of departing, the time is logable, however, I agree with CapCloud. :)

Leth: Start by telling yourself there IS a way to see yourself doing it. Start by seeing yourself there already and work backwards a day at a time.

It worked for me when I started 15,000 hours and 139 types ago.

I flew gliders (2-33s) first and soloed power (Aeronca L3) at 16.
