Losing club matches on time

Dear Members,

As you know, you find our club matches here: https://www.chess.com/clubs/matches/club-coronacion

However, several of the members have recently lost their club matches on time - sometimes without a single move made in the game. This is not nice for your team mates, who might lose the entire match because one or two members abandoned their games. (The same has happened to some of our opponents, too, but that's not our concern - we get the victories for free whenever one of our opponents forgets his games.)

To avoid this, here are some tips:

- Join club matches only when you intend to play them till the end.

- Visit your settings and switch on the alert when time is running out. You can get a reminder to your e-mail when there are 7 hours left.

- If you use the mobile phone app, just look at it once a day. You see there how much time you have left for the games that expire first.

- If you are going offline for several days, go to your settings, daily chess settings, and switch on "vacation". That way, you don't lose your games on time. (However, in some tournaments, this option is not there, and if you disappear for days, you lose your games regardless of the vacation setting. You see in the tournament info if this is the case.)

- If you think you've lost the game and you want to give up, use "resign", that's much more polite at your opponent than abandoning the game.

Try to avoid losing club matches on time! Thank you, and good games!
