Lousy UI design.

Repeating my gripes from the Notes..

In looking for a Online Games overview akin to v2's https://www.chess.com/echess/myhome page, I pressed the 三 icon, hit "Daily", and then tried to hit "Daily" again on my phone.  Instead of getting a "Current Online Games" listing, instead, somehow I ended up generating two Open Challenges.    Before I could say, "what the... " the Open Challenges were generated (NO CONFIRMATION action/request from the system---asinine) and accepted.
What's more, I had no idea how to even go and recall/cancel those generated challenges. v3's User Interface is like this for me (and I suspect others)... difficult and cryptic. v2's user interface is still superior to v3's .. design? Hard for me to ever call such a hodge-podge labyrinth of menus and icons a 'design'. V3's UI reminds me of what 1st year Comp. Sci. students throw together for a semester end group project.

Later on, I noticed a.) the games were unrated and b.) this apparent bug ↴

If you want an example of a productive, simple UI design for a chess site, I suggest you developers hit the "↱↲" icon and switch back to v2.  Undecided  I wish I were being facetious.

FWIW - here's how it is shown in v2:

I know straight-away this is an Unrated game.  In v2, to make a game challenge, I need to specifically make one.  I can't just accidentally hit a button and create one or two...   I have to specifically hit "Start New Game" from the menu selection in //www.chess.com/echess/myhome .

Once there, I can then set Game Options prior to hitting the Create New Game button if I so choose to get there. Why the thunder in v3 is only a simple push of a button with a fat finger or two required to generate new game challenges??

Another v2 screen shot for the v3 Dev Team (with condescending tone .. because I'm frustrated with the amateur-hour design of v3's User Interface):

@Spacebux I'm assuming since you are in this forum you are using beta?  If so was this issue from /home?

Spacebux

I don't know which URL is to blame. One differs from the other that's all I know.

The real answer for both v3 screens should be "Unrated", should it not?  It's this player's first Online/Daily game, so it seems both v3-screenshot ratings are incorrect.

> I know straight-away this is an Unrated game.

Actually, game 179780712 is a rated game. That screenshot from V2 pertains to that player, not to the game. This is an example of where V2's interface is more confusing than helpful.

As far as why you're seeing the difference between 1800 and 800 on this person's rating, that's because on the list view, we show the daily rating, and as you stated, since this player doesn't have a daily rating yet, it defaults to the default for this person's level, which in this case is 800. On daily games, it shows as 1800 because that's the person's best rating across all categories (in this case, blitz).

In other words, the ratings aren't inaccurate, but they are determined by different means. I'll talk with the product team to see if we want to get these two places consistent, thanks.

Spacebux

Sorry, yes, Unrated player.  But the descrepency is quite noticeable in v3.  v2 does not show the provisional rating.

Spacebux

So... why would you show the player's best rating across all categories rather than the more pertinent rating of the category currently being played?
