Go in the ocean, and find underwater caves, get some doors, and if goes to deepslate (they usually do), you are most definately finding diamonds as diamonds spawn more when they aren
't exposed to air blocks, and you also find bigger veins that you do in a cave, watch camman18 lol

I would recommend digging to y11 and branch mining from there. First thing u should make with diamonds is pick to get more diamonds and obsidian.

Again, this is assuming the OP is playing pre-1.18. A new player asking a question like this is almost certainly playing the latest version.
