Max pieces on a board!?

We have all probably seen this question asked for standard chess pieces; rooks, queens, knights, bishops, but what if we tried to solve this for variant pieces? What is the greatest number of hawks which can be placed on a board in such a way so that none of them attack/defend eachother? What about Elephants? Wizards? Champions? Amazons? Other variant pieces? Shogi??

For hawks I got 14, elephants are easy because it's the same as for rooks, i.e. eight. Try to figure out more! Note that for the wizards and champions you should use an Omega Chess board, so that it makes sense.

Please ignore the kings in the diagrams.
