don't try to find an ancient city yet. that's my best advice. I don't know your skill level, but if you don't 100% know what you're doing and how to do it, you will die if you try to loot it. Even if you do 100% know what you're doing, one mistake and you're also dead

Yeah when I explored one I was doing well I tell I forgot to sneak and died so always make sure to sneak around shreikers and wardens, and another tip is to gather lots of iron for an anvil so that you can apply swift sneak onto your leggings and that will make traveling around much easier
