Lol, in servers that have tons of emeralds, normal gear and villagers at spawn, I just use all the emeralds on blacksmiths, farmers, and weapon smiths.

With a small amount of fuel I run infinitly with a small thing that is considered weak, flimsy.
I have an abstract use in another item that has an arbitrary power: it will be as long as you want it.
These three: the fuel, the user of the fuel, and the base make a useless contraption.

Ender portal isn't weak or flimsy. That thing is as hard as bedrock, Can't be destroyed by jack frost.
Nether star seems most likely.
Yeah, I was thinking that, but really can't see how it's fuel or user of fuel.
