Hi Staff, can you please add more new lessons to IOS App ? I’ve already taken all Intermediate and Advanced Lessons weeks ago and they did help me tremendously in improving my TT rating. Thank you very much 😀

@Bossy_Baby  These lessons are available regardless of what platform you're using to access chess.com.  For example, I use Windows 10 OS on a desktop and I take the lessons there.  Just wanted to clarify they are not specifically IOS based lessons.

I do agree it would be nice to get more lessons in the future, when the developers have time to create them.  I have completed up to the Intermediate level thus far, and they definitely have helped me also! happy.png

@Jonani I prefer to do the lessons on app so I was excited when I saw this happy.png

@Bossy_Baby  I wasn't trying to say it's good or bad to do the lessons on any given OS platform.  I was simply trying to mention that the lessons are available to users on more than just the IOS platform.  Thanks for including the link for more information.

Thank you very much @erik happy.png The new lessons are designed much better than the old ones👍Because I was so motivated to finish all as soon as possible.  They are more easily absorbed, as proven in my quick rise in TT rating after I finished all Intermediate and advanced Lessons happy.png

I just remembered something: my lesson Rating didn’t change when I took the lessons on app.

Oh no! Your rating dropped like a stone yesterday!

Did you forget everything?

Better do those lessons again!

@notmtwain I had a bad TT day yesterday 🙁I’ll start all over again. And review the lessons too.

I also think there are some changes in TT. It’s trickier now. It used to be don’t take the free Queen dangled in front of you. But now you need to take it sometimes! Or always put the rook or Queen on top of the king’s head with the help of a knight. That’s not true anymore.

It’s possible I forgot many stuff. I did finish the lessons too fast, like in a week.  So the concepts didn’t sink deeply in my bones. Although my tactic vision did expand some after the lessons. A tiny bit enlightened in chess, dare I say? I’ve read that some  people one day suddenly become enlightened in chess  and they are able to understand many things that eluded them before. I understood what they meant after I speedily finished the lessons. Yes I definitely  need to review the lessons again and do the unrated ones only for a while.

Sometimes it's good to pace yourself, rather than rush through completing a task.  I keep reminding myself that "life is a marathon, not a race".

And "quality over quantity", meaning it's not how much of something you complete, but how much you get out of what you're completing.

Hope that makes sense? happy.png

Good luck with your tactics training!

Yes that does makes sense @Jonani, thank you happy.png I did plan to review the lessons someday, taking them more slowly. But I am also lazy. I need to be motivated enough to review the lessons again. The horrible TT day yesterday finally convinced me to review the lessons.

Two reasons I finished the lessons fast first time:

1) To help test the new IOS lessons.

2) The lessons are indeed interesting and fun so I wanted to finish all as quickly as possible and hoped to see some results soon happy.png

I don’t know if they have fixed this ? I feel the word “protecting “ is awkward, perhaps incorrectly used here ?

Makes sense.  I can understand being eager to finish the lessons because they are interesting to do.  I started taking them a bit fast and then I slowed down because I wanted to absorb the information more long term.

Just because you finished the lessons once, doesn't mean you can't do select ones again as a refresher.  As a suggestion, you could do some of the more challenging ones, but instead of watching the lesson video, go right to the challenges and see how you do.  That was going to be my plan, once I finished the advanced section.

Have you also completed the Old Lessons section?

Avatar of Lasso_of_Chess

I did very little old lessons. Somehow the old lessons don’t motivate me to do them. I’m refreshing the Intermediate Courses now. To refresh the Advanced Courses, I will have to a switch to Diamond Membership again. I will do that when more new materials are released happy.png
