MOUSE slip/on move 7
7 Bd2 is not very good, and loses white's first move advantage immediately as the bishop will need to move again. I assume that you intended to play Bg5 as the h-pawn can't chase it away from that irritating spot.
the plan was to move the knight to d2,but i took my eyes off the piece as i went to move it,by mistake i moved the bishop.
what i found interesting is on chess.com analysis this move comes up as ok,
I ran an engine analysis on the position after 6...h5 using stockfish_8 in chessx. I set it to display the top 20 moves and let it run to a depth of 30.
About 14 of the moves that can be made were rated as equal or better. Bd2 held a position between 10th and 12th on the list. That is to say that it was not a blunder, and that the position after 7.Bd2 still favored White (but not by much). The best moves were h4, h3, Nc3, Bg4 and of course, Nbd2.
Engine analysis can sometimes be misleading if you don't take certain things into account. In the KIA we play Nbd2 because it supports the overall plan of the KIA. Bd2 would interfere with the overall plan of the KIA but it might fit in with some other strategies that would not be compatible with the KIA. The engine doesn't care what opening we are trying to play.
If you run an engine analysis on KIA games beginning with 1.Nf3 you will see Black is often ahead during setup. This is consistent with the overall strategy of hypermodern chess wherein the opponent is allowed to have the advantage at the start of the game. White hopes to gain the advantage in the early middle game.
So, it's not likely the engine analysis was saying 7.Bd2 was good or even acceptable, but just that the overall position still favored White.
Hope this is what you were asking about.
