Hire a trainer and everything will be faster
I knew how the pieces moved when I was like 5 or 6 but I started learning chess in this April and I am improving a lot ![]()
I started in chess. com not knowing how to move the pieces, so I made random moves,
and lost on time
Don't limit yourself to 800. If you set a higher goal, then you'll work harder and if you fail, your failure may still bring you above 800. Rather, you should set some smaller goals like 800 and stuff. If you focus on tactics and puzzles, you could easily make it to 1100 by year's end. If you throw this in with some of your games that you play regularly, you definitely could hit 4 digits. Also, don't be afraid to play a bit slower with rapid games. If you play slow and get an advantage and then play fast after that happens, it will help you learn more because you'll be thinking more and you may be able to win more games.
bro i started at 2010
Same!
I had some games vs my friend back in 2012 or so, quite funny to look at them because we've improved very fast after a period. However they went more on the LoL craze while I still kept playing chess and devouring chess content, nowadays it is hard for him to beat me in a game.
Still always delightful to play him nonetheless. ![]()
When i learned how to move the pieces, I remember I was 9 years old and always lost to my dad... But I improved, now am close to 1200 elo and always beat him
