well, the advantage is very minor

We've seen these closed fairy-piece positions a lot. In general (pun not intended), they have a major flaw: it's hard to actually... do anything. The position looks good at first sight, but the pieces are all so restricted, it's impossible to go for KOTH, and promoting doesn't do anything. Launching an attack is thwarted by the defender moving his king one space away, and you risk becoming an easy target for your other adjacent opponent if you attack someone. The grasshoppers in particular are quite oppressive, preventing a lot of attacking ideas and often trading for promoted pieces. There isn't really a strategy here besides hoping people will hang pieces. The position is fundamentally flawed.
