This means yellow can only move pawns 1 square and red can move 2. Its a bit unfair in my opinion

Pawns start on the 5th rank.

I tried this before... but I found it didn't work because of the pawn placement, as the pawns will all be promoting on different ranks.

Avatar of itisSHOWTIME

OH, you have no promotion...

Nice

I think, team CGA will ask you to rename your NCP. All names like 'Standart', 'Variant', 'Ox6' and so one are reserved to another games.

This idea isn't original. We're currently considering two positions which this was clearly "inspired" by. We're not here to say whether you came up with this idea independently, or if you just copied another creator's work, but either way, we're not going to consider it on the basis that it's simply too similar to other creators' ideas.

I think this game isn't similar to any other creators' ideas.

  1. It isn't possible to help your teammate by using your pieces. You can only help him by drawing arrows.
  2. It hasn't got any fairy pieces.
  3. It's similar to classical chess.

Right, yellow has pawns after 5th and red before 5th

Wait, then @grable ,why are there 3 different "Arena" themed NCP variants?

Arena of Heroes and Arena of Legends are similar and they are done by different creators.

I ask because I'm planning to request my own "Arena" themed variant as a verified NCP

Yes, I think you can.

The only similarity between those is the name.

Is this NCP under review?

No, it was declined, as you can see from the big sign.

But why was it declined? What variants are similar to this NCP? You haven't also tested it.

Across the River” and “Golden Ratio”.
Also, this is the reason why the CGAs don’t want any more WFT games

I don't believe that...

Avatar of Cypridev

My NCP is not similar to those variants.

Teams Chess:

-All players play on the similar boards like in the classical chess with standard position.

-You can’t help your teammate by using your pieces.

-No fairy pieces

Golden Ratio:

-Only two players play on the board like in the classical chess.

-You can help your teammate by using your pieces.

-More pieces

-Less walls

-Fairy pieces

-Not accepted

Across the river:

-Only two players play the on the board like in horde.

-You can help your teammate by using your pieces.

-No fairy pieces

-Green is better

-Not accepted

-My NCP is about 10 hours older. (Teams Chess: 4 March 7:11 p.m, Across the river: 5 March 04:46 a.m)

I understand that you feel your game is significantly different than the other two variations. Even if we're accepting as fact that you came up with this idea all on your own, without influence from other creators' positions, we will not add two positions by two separate creators which are this similar. The fact of the matter is that one of the two previously-submitted positions will be accepted, and this one will not. The other ones were posted first, and have priority. It is out of respect to the entire creator community that we're not allowing copies of their ideas (even, if as you claim, you did not copy them intentionally).

My first game of ≋Across the River≋ was played on 28 Feb., not 5 Mar. In my submitted thread, I only included links to the required 10 test games, not all 74 that I played, but here's the first. I can't speak for the creator of Golden Ratio, but again, his was after my first test.

Also note that @6_K's comments above are his own. What I'm saying here is the decision of the CGA team, as discussed and agreed upon. This position is declined for being too similar to ideas submitted previously by different creators.
