Alright, talk about a fast turn-around! We were just finishing up our other tests for the week when you made your update so we have some results for you now.
This position is great! It seems like the piece placement and promotion options are great for the design of the board. Everywhere you move, it seems like your pieces have good harmony, and you're hardly ever able to get into a rough situation (if you're paying attention). All that being said, there are two tiny issues that throw a spanner into the works, and will prevent us from accepting just yet. Issue #1: The flank pawns. Red and Yellow can both attack Green on move one, and of course, he's only able to react to one threat at a time. Now hold up, I can hear all of you screaming at me that this is the exact same situation in my favourite variant, and a 4PC mainstay, War for Throne. Yes, you're right. But the difference here is that in WFT, you have 21 (or 20) more pieces to make up the difference of any points you lose in the opening. Here, you don't have nearly as many. Also in WFT, your opening-attacked pieces are defended, so given the opportunity, you can recapture a move later. Here, again, that's not the case. Issue #2: This one isn't as big, but if you're making a revision (which I absolutely hope you do), we would suggest adding some checks. Even 4-check seems a bit better for this position (although 5 would certainly be fine). There's nothing specifically wrong with 3-check, but quick deaths make a variant seem less fun, and 3-checks opens up this one to that fate.
Again, I'm really hoping you continue to work on this one, and that we'll see a new version soon. For now though.
