NCP- The Center (and The Center II)

A few months ago, i made a variant called The Center. It did well and got rated. a few weeks after that, I made a sequel: The Center II. It did very well and was rated on the first day it was released. but after a while, people stopped playing them and both were taken down from the list of variants. So i will play a few games and hopefully it is put back on to the variant list.

Tbh, the Center II is much much harder if you dont know how to play. but it just takes some trial and error.

oh yea I played the center ll and I liked it - although every time because either me or my teammate did something wrong we lost pretty quick

why more than 24 hrs?

We've tightened up the requirements a bit to ensure that players are being diligent about their testing before submitting it. We had been getting far too many submissions of positions that were disastrously broken in some way or another, where it was clear the testing process done by the player was insufficient.

but why 24 hrs

because the CGA.s don't want to waste their time testing bad games- they only want to test the ones that have real promise.

The Center II btw is possible for bg to win if they know the right openning.

24hrs is just to make it harder for you to make a game - so if you do make one, it is one that is really good.

why a minimum time? i dont get why you need todo it.

Seeing test games from a span of 10-15 minutes means that someone came up with the idea, created the position, then immediately played enough games to fulfil the requirements.

We ask for 24 hours, because that gives the player a chance to stop, think, analyse, and look for pros, cons, and unintended consequences within the position.

If the other players of 4PC are anything like me, we get excited about things like this. It's easy to get carried away on the path to a fresh new idea, and rush through the process whilst ignoring small imperfections, on the quest to showing off our creation. That's fine, and it's good to be excited by things like this, but in order to give creators a chance to revise and perfect their creations, we put a minimum time requirement on the process.
