grasshoppers
NCP - The Center III

there are no pawns lol
Ah, of course. Thanks for editing the post. We'll review it soon.

We liked the prequels, the Center I and II, for their sharp and complex play. However, this version is lacking in tactical possibilities; red and yellow can give one check, but then it becomes very difficult to deliver checks unless one deliberately walks into a check. This combination of pieces does not work well together; in The Center I, the pieces were closer together, so the kings were easier to corner, and in The Center II, there were knights to enable all sorts of checking sequences. In this position, the checks from the alfil and wazir are easily avoided, and setting up a grasshopper check is difficult. Games will drag on very long due to the difficulty of checking.
