the Slothful Grasshoppers

or

slothinator

I chose to go with sloth because the pieces move less, similar to a sloth

Slothinator isn't a word, and The Slothful Grasshoppers doesn't describe the gameplay much as many variants have grasshoppers and here in the higher-level games grasshoppers move quite a lot.

well then maybe "sloths chess"?

Not really descriptive of the variant either, the gameplay is quite eventful despite it being Second Negative (not viable attacking, not viable shuffling).

I don't choose that because of the game play, I choose that because of the way the pieces move,

very similar to classic pieces, but not as far

Same can be said about variants like Unique, Chaturanga, Courier Chess, Color Blinds, Mini Forest and a myriad more similar variants, this doesn't describe the variant enough.

smh Unique is not a good variant name... every position is unique (otherwise we'd decline it)

I and @NoWellOkay came up with a few names for the variant:

1. Jump till Bump

2. Caught on a Snag

@nochinator1, what do you think about either of these? Do you like any of these two?

A few other ideas:

Forest Dwarfs
Grass Umbras
Dracaena Draco (also known as Dragon Tree)

I was under the impression that forest was being used to describe games on one colour complex. We'd also considered the name "hold the door"

We don't really have a thing where a word is associated with a concept, the name just has to make sense for the position

I don't mind "Hold the Door" as a name either

I like "caught in a snag" that sounds like a great name! Thanks @bsrti
