nob the whole point of testing is to test with real players and see what the game is actually like
I feel like you took the "10 testing games" too minimally - most of the games are just 10 moves with someone resigning, and none of the games are complete or show how a well-played endgame may look like. There was just 1 game that seemed to show at least some gameplay, but even that didn't nearly go into the endgame.
Additionally, the endgame would be extremely stale - I don't see any strategy. The only way to win appears to be if your opponent sacrifices a lot of pieces, because if most or all pieces are traded, then it will be impossible to get a checkmate. Because of this, one can simply build a fortress and only accept trades for a practically guaranteed draw.
To make the gameplay better, you would probably want to change the pieces a bit, add KOTH or another winning mechanic, and possibly even add Fog or Zombie manipulation.
