✗ NCV ︱ The Steeplechase

Status: Declined

Reason: Anything that can be called "NCV or WoF" always means it will be declined. We even used to auto-decline such variants. There is a big difference between NCV and WoF criteria. If you don't understand them well and assume your variant fits both, this only means that it fits none in fact.

In the first version, the game outcome was mostly decided by luck. Here, the "bridges" do improve the game in terms of variety a bit, but still it's not enough because these "bridges" do not affect the gameplay much, only delay it. The other, and most critical, issue is that, there is no way to win at all. Players don't have enough material to break through the bots (example). This results in endless shuffling and extremely boring play.
