New Board - Right mouse button cancel does not work properly anymore

Description

When playing i take my pieces and already hover them over the square where they probably should go after the oponents move (custom pre-move), but if they play something else I cancel it and play something else.

Previously I could use my right mouse button for that and it went back to the original square and I could take another piece, but now the piece stays in the square without making the move .

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open a new live game in chess.
  2. Play a few moves.
  3. When it is the oponents turn take a piece and hover it over the square where it probably goes to after the oponents move.
  4. After the oponent moves click the right mouse button.

Result

The board is broken, the piece stays on that square and if i try to put it back it makes an orange arrow.

Expected result

Like in the previous version, the piece should go to it's original position and I should be able to make another move.

Yeah that is the common use-case right? You expect a move, they play something else so you cancel. But it goes also wrong if you cancel before the oponent makes his move.

Until it's resolved if someone uses this against you in game you can use focus mode to avoid this and  continue your match.

you can't cancel once the play the move

Avatar of Serphiot

You could previously.

Instead of letting go the left-mouse button, when you click the right-mouse button the piece would go back to it's original position.
