New idea for a variant piece

There's lots of forums out there on custom pieces, I would post any ideas you have on there and check if they've already been done. I'm pretty sure this is already a custom piece that's not uncommon. Not to say it's a bad idea, in fact the opposite, because so many people have come up with it before and thought it was a good idea.

I think the idea of a piece that move multiple times like that is a bit too complicated. You could apply the same logic to a knight, claiming that it moves multiple times, but in reality it's just a piece that jumps to a pre-determined square. I'd say the deal breaker here is the wildebeest, which is barely on the inside of the line. If you added more mobility to it then it would jump way over the line and become too complicated of a piece.

I know this piece isn't "complicated", but when looking at it from a theoretical perspective and from a historical perspective (where such pieces haven't existed before), I would say we are getting too far ahead of ourselves here.

Compared to official chess this is 100% a complicated piece, and compared to the fairy pieces implemented on chess it is more complicated, but in terms of the custom pieces on forums and whatnot, it is pretty average, because just moves differently; it doesn't do anything special besides that.

I don't think we need pieces more complex than riders and wildebeests. As a competitive OTB player I struggle to calculate wile accounting for the abilities of riders.
