New openings and road to 1600

Just know that your "road" to 1600 and your new openings will have very little to do with each other. Also, the way to get from 1200->1600 is to get better at tactics. Much better.

It will take you to 1600 and beyond, and you won't need anything else.
You'll play 1.e4 open games, and hone middle game tactics, which is what's key on the road to 1600.

Hello everyone
I am currently looking to broaden my opening knowledge. At the moment I pretty much know the queen's gambit. I was wondering if anyone could suggest some other openings, possibly more defensive. Additionally, I am looking to boost my rating from about 1200 to 1600. if anyone could give some useful tips it would be much appreciated.
This was a recent game I played, both players had about 80% accuracy, I was black
