Squavement reversion I guess
any feedback?
Here's the problem with squavement's idea as a whole:
Shuffling, and no incentive to attack in the opening, players do not really have an incentive to attack each other until they get stronger weapons, and rather just shuffle and play defensively.
To fix this, you can put the strong pieces on the other player's side, where you can only "unlock" strong pieces once the other's side is free.

2. I want to make it so if the king is captured you lose. How can this be performed while still using the clock?
Also, if these things can be fixed, is the position fair?

Ok, first of all, remove Blue because being between RY puts them at a disadvantage.
1. This is because Green wants to check, and capturing Blue's royal puts Red in check.

If one player does nothing, the other player can place, capture, and replace the knight, slowly draining the opponent's checks.
Ah alright that's a fair point, but I'd probably maybe say a setup knight in the back and setup complete (which could be interesting I suppose)
