This is a concept that I’m still working on. The idea is to use the pawns to strategically create bricks to impede the opponent’s movement.

Potential changes:

1. Modify 12-check to 9-check

2. Add Any Capture

3. Add more/less dead pieces

4. Change the pieces in the setup bank

Notes:

1. The setup rank limit is the 5th rank.

2. Spells last for 1 turn and need 3 turns for cooldown.

3. The royal piece is the Sergeant on the 1st rank.

Games:

Version 4 - Current Version

Version 3

WELCOME TO: The Frosted Fortress (Yet another Minecraft Dungeons name)
Rules:Yellow and Blue, Red and Green teams, Fatal capture, Stalemate loss,BPR, =W. Green is a F-Pusher and Blue is a F-Muncher, Yellow starts the game
So this is my first attempt at extreme bot manipulation and this first draft (which has not been playtested) took me about an hour and a half to curate and solve all the problems. (Which I'll explain in detail) So here we go again:
1.Basic gameplay: For the first 10 moves, in the hyper gameplay, red attempts to kill yellow by moving his rook, so yellow has to copy these movements in order to not be captured by the blue rooks (which are in yellows team). There are two original problems with this- Yellow can just take the red rook and stalemate red, or Yellow can just take the grasshopper. I solved this by-
-If Yellow takes red's rook, then the green grasshopper mates yellow
-If Yellow takes the grasshopper, red's wazir simply takes the rook and stalemates yellow (this in itself took me a good 30 minutes)
2.After 10 moves, green can now move it's other pieces and the position will start to open up. greens paws have now moved out of the way for red and allows red's pieces to be unleashed. yellow's pieces will also free up in 3 or 4 moves, after which red and yellow giht it out on the side boards.
3.Other explanations-
-The red bishops serve no purpose
-The royals don't either other than providing a possible way to mate the bots and end the game
-The yellow kings on the bottom also server no purpose.
-The green pawns exist to make sure green does not instantly mate red with the grasshopper

What do you think?

How does everyone make good variants while I don't? (Actually my age may be a factor. I'm only 9)

Concept: hide and seek chess (i will elaborate later)

Hi guys! New here.
I've had been thinking for a very long time about a new variant of chess. The trouble is that looking at the submission guidelines from what I understand you have to submit multiple games. The problem I have is I can't create my variant in the editor as far as I know as it has some new rules and one new piece. What do you do in this case where you can't create a testable version of the variant in the editor?
An example of what I can't do is the new piece Prince. It moves the same as a King but has a special ability to remove a friendly piece next to it.

Saplings don't bloom the month they get planted. Unless it was planted while already being bloomed (iykyk).

I am 15 now. Age probably is not a major factor I was 14 when I posted Alfarracks........................

Wow it's nice to see young people enjoy chess...

If you want to create a really good variant, you have to put in massive efforts. Start from an interesting unique concept (or develop an existing one, that is, add a unique twist to it) and do LOTS of testing, with HIGH-LEVEL players, and thinking about how to improve the position. I'm only 16, and my Qiang-Xiangqi versions were declined 3 times (4 if you include my initial self-declination). It required 6 months worth of effort (not really, 4 of those months were spent waiting for a verdict), and massive amounts of testing with multiple CGAs (most of them, in fact) to even get close to having such a variant accepted. But eventually, with enough grit and determination, you will get there, to your first accepted variant. Being 9 is (almost) no different from being 16 in terms of how much hard work you are able to produce. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel in my variant. Happy creating!

Ladies and Gentlemen, I present you...
THE WELL OF FATE (part II)

So I've addressed some of the problems in the original. Here is a walkthrough through the variant:

1. So if you're new to The Well of Fate, lemme give you the basics. It's a concept where it's a spell imbalance- Red is 3 jump spells while Yellow has 2 freeze spells. Each of the side's pieces have been selected keeping in mind that they suit the spells they use (etc. orthongals for red which work well with jump spells and snipers for yellow which go well with freeze spells)

2.So, according to the decline message, yellow could very easily rush the hill using the freeze spells. To fix this, red now has 3 jump spells while yellow has only 2 freezers. I also weakened yellow's royal to a wazir, so KoTH is very difficult for yellow generally.

3.Now, the method of winning the game is different for both sides. Yellow, with its weakened royal, must grab the bounties and pieces from red and gain more than 20 points above red to claim win. Red, on the other hand, can target yellow's weaker royal and attempt to mate. They can also attempt to rush the hill (which can be very dangerous if yellow uses their freezers right.)

4.Miscellaneous changes from the original:
-Replaced one of the red queens with a rook
-Replaced all the fairy pawns with normal pawns and sergeants
-Made the dragon bishops normal bishops
>This was done with weakening yellow in mind, but because most of yellow's pieces are colorblind, I may give yellow a strong piece as compensation (etc. mustang)
-Replaced the invisible bricks that surround the KOTH with normal bricks
>I got this idea after looking at phantom rooks, and it gives red interesting tactics where they can keep a piece on the KOTH and snipe yellow
-Replaced several bounties with just 4 bishops
>Because the aim of the game is for yellow to claim win, I reduced the number of bounties from 8 to 4. In any case, the wazir bounties weren't doing much lol.
-Changed board shape slightly to suit the bounties
-Changed it from +40 to +20

Yeah that's all from my side, what do you guys think?
