I think that this is a bad variant because the game length will be 80-100 moves but players will get bored after 20-40 moves*

Literally 4 player chess but you have to capture the king. I don't know how to make pawns move 2 squares on the first move in this variant, is it possible? Also any ways I can improve it?

To add pawns move 2 you have to set a base (or home) rank.

do this by adding this:

right after the first curly bracket.

i personally like when pawn player has no rooks, and non-pawn player has no royal (stalemate is loss)

This is very similar to something i've thought of before, but couldn't do because of the way pawns are programmed. Essentially, I wanted to make a self-partnering variant where half your pieces are one color and half are the other, split by the square color they start on. I couldn't do this though because then half the pawns wouldn't move correctly. Different directional pawns would be really helpful for stuff like this.
