New >Variant Suggestion: Compensatory Justice Chess (name open)

I like to play differently. I'm looking for another variant of chess that I haven't seen anywhere and wonder if it's playable.

Suggestion 1: Justice Chess, or checkmate Queen Variant, or simple "Queen is King Chess"

Rule changes compared to standard chess:

- Queen is the most important figure (edit: Queen can move like King ins standard chess, only 1 square in each direktion)

- Queen can castle (like king in standard chess)

- King gets another ability to move like the horse (i.e. he can go 1 square in each direction as in the standard and also jump like the horse) .

or

Additon: If the king with his horse ability is to strong, a King charge counter (only count when king jump like horse) can be implementet. Somethink like 3 charges allowed. But if could be varaibel :-)

- Pawns can be exchanged for another king instead of the queen

Possible opening: I would like to see a new opening where the two horses and the king jump over the pawn line. I would like to call it a cavalry opening or a winged hussar opening. ( Sorry I read too much world history and Polish history. :-))

If the game seems one-sided and the endgame is not in a mood, here is a modified suggestion. Suggestion 2: Compensatory justice chess

Same rules as in suggestion 1 and:

- The king's ability to jump like a horse depends on whether the player still has a horse in play. Exchanging a pawn for a horse can therefore be strategically important.

- The queen's ability to walk across the squares can also change in the game. In this game you can give the queen the movement patterns of the (king), bishop and rook. If all bishops fall, the queen only moves like a king and rook in standard chess. If all bishops and rooks fall, the queen only moves like a king. I think such a chess game brings new variety for the start, middle game and endgame.

(my masterpiece) Suggestion 3:

Same rules from proposal 1 and 2 with one exception:

- Before the game, both players decide for themselves whether their own queen or their own king is to be checkmated. Here it would be possible that one player choose the king and the other player choose  queen.

- Only the piece that has to be checkedmate can castel. This is a distinguishing feature. Variation 3 can also be played blind (without knowing which piece from the opponent has to be checkedmate). The players decide and note down the most important role figure before the game and must recognize in the game (e.g. when the opponent castles) which figure is the most important.

What do you think? Are these game variants playable or should we ask an engine? :-)

AiryWigglyTown

Wow! I'm into that kind of stuff you know and I think that is playable.

shadowarcher28

i like it, especially the third version

/edit my suggestion 1 with "king charge counter"

Variation 1 be like:

Or:

You need a lot of pieces lol

Hitsar_Pride

Thats why, the king need to be the one who is supposed to checkmated instead

AiryWigglyTown

Drop 5 random queens x

Drop 5 random queens and it ends up being forced checkmate √

tacticspotter

The 6 queens occupy every square on the board lol

AiryWigglyTown

You don't understand my variation 1 (and don't spam your pictures, they are wrong, too)

You have only one queen and not 6... Each Player can only have one queen and more special king's.

Because one queen is hard to catch in endgame (if you play standard chess queen move) variation 1 , i suggested variation 3, where the queen (depends on the other pieces) get weaker, so you can checkmatt the queen easier.

AiryWigglyTown

yup

the pictures are in standard chess position to tell you how hard it is to checkmate the queen so proposal 1 is not great

Also who told you that 2 pictures of different diagram is spam lol

tacticspotter

erm so in your proposal 3 what will happen in this position...

draw?

shadowarcher28

who's move

Slimack
OK I change the rules in Suggestion 1: Queen move like the king in standard chess.
Now it should be playable. Agree?
I hope you can see the arrows in this picture below :-)

I know queen with standard chess moves is hard to checkmate. Agree. So I change my rules for suggestion 1. Queen moves like king in standard chess.

And yes your pictures are wrong, so i put my own in.

No. It is a win for white. Rook f line, g line, h line. Checkmate black queen, wich has no black bishop's or black rooks support and can only move 1 square.
