if viewed on the chess.com app, crashes it, my guess is the twitter posts on the page is the problem.

It's caused by some data in the PGNs for games in those stories. We've purged most of the recent news stories, but still need to fix the bug itself. You should now at least be able to read (recent) News on your devices without crashing. Sorry for all the inconvenience.
