Although Tal, Bronstein and Keres were considered as the best attacking players of the 40s - 70s from the former Soviet Union the great Mikhail Moiseevich Botvinnik once quoted: " No one sees combinations as Rashid Gibiatovich Nezhmetdinov." The great Tal hired Nezhmetdinov as his trainer for his WCC matches with Botvinnik in 1960 and 1961. Due to the soviet chess administration Nezhmedtinov was not allowed to travel abroad to compete in western tournaments - that´s why he never achieved a GM title!
