I assume he meant to pin the e7 pawn and prepare to damage the pawn structure if black goes for nf6. After black played f6, I think sacrificing the g5 bishop with bishop d3 would have been extremely strong. Black has no pieces out and if fxg5 then bxg6+ followed by ne5+ and white has a crushing attack. Black either has to play king f7 and bishop f5, both of which look extremely uncomfortable
