Are you sure that you have the app running in background all the time, and that you are connected to the network?
notifications
Hello, yes it is generally running, as far as testing it to see if the service hasnt been killed i have not found a way to efficently check this.
The few times I have check it was there as a service.
I also, almost always have data on in some form or another.
I am on a new g2 running froyo, sense. I will start to monitor the service under applications running services before I start up the app to check if its my move.
Edordoo, thanks for your help.
The notification was working ok yesterday.
This afternoon, I cheked that the service was running, under settings > applications > running services. Then I started the chess.com app, and it was my turn.
So the notification did not show up.
My friend that I am playing also said he was getting sporadic notifications.
I also notice that the emails I get that notify me it is my turn are pretty sporadic. I wonder if that is what is causing this to not work.
I would also requst that when the notification comes on a sound and vibrate could also come on.
please let me know if theres any way I can help to fix this problem.

Yggdras, I am sure the developers will follow this group/forum too, so they will see your vibrate request sooner or later. I would like such a setting too, but only as option that you can turn on/off.
I have checked the notification this weekend myself, it indeed happens that the icon is not there yet while there are already moves (sometimes more then one). As I have no idea how the logic is setup, it can be that there is a poll only every x-minutes, and you are just faster then the system... or it can be that the program still has a flaw.
To test this, I would need to check on my computer if there is a move, and see how long it takes for the icon to show up. In general I am too anxious to make my moves... But maybe the developers have a better way to check this out.
I have this issue as well. I have data going and the service running. I don't think its a poll interval rate issue as I can wait hours and a notification will never show up.
It would be nice if there was a poll rate setting that we can select. OR use push notifications.
For now I'm going to forward the "its your move" emails to http://notifo.com to get more reliable notification... kinda ghetto but it might work.
I am running epic 4g with android 2.2.
Update.. the notifo things works, but the "its your move" email are pretty slow as well. But it will at least pop up letting me know after a little while.

Notifications are still not working right here. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't appear at all and sometimes they stay although a move has been made.
Please consider using push notifications - available for Android devices >= 2.2

Thanks.
Hi, new to the app and the forum. I'm wondering if tis is the area to ask for app changes. If it is, I propose that the notifications make a noise (optional in settings). I also notice that the notification rarely works and I find myself constantly owning the app to check if its my move. Thanks .
