I then use a block to parkour, summon a rope, then backflip behind flowey, choking it with a rope

Sidestepping does nothing... I'm not attacking you, I'm blocking your path to get to me. You aren't at me yet.

They are only affecting that block right?

They're just making a wall to block you from going forward, something like that

They're in front of you, blocking your way to Flowey. You can try to go side, but they can move to block you.
