Another line from Clyde Nakamura. The Gambit Accepted article can be found HERE. This was actually my first game ever using this Gambit. After reading about the Blackmer-Diemer Gambit, I decided to open up with d4 and luckily for me my opponent responded Nf6. I immediately followed up e4! The idea of this gambit is to create a strong center, develope most of your pieces, and create a half open b file. The gambit worked out for me and I was able to take out a player rated 300 pts above me. I'm sure the gambit in the opening helped out! I will post my game and then a few of Clyde's games from his chessville site.
I could have blundered really bad on that last move! Luckily he took the bait. I was under a bunch of time pressure. now for Clyde's games.
If you like this Gambit please go to Clyde's site HERE. He has tons of other great Gambits there as well.
In your game you were really lucky. But this is just something to learn from. Remember that if you go for this kind of combination, the knight has to support the square the queen will be sacrifised on.
Thanks for looking at the game. I know that setup. Was a really fast game though. I'd go more into it but I messed up my right hand and can barely type.
