I can give this easier explanation if it helps:

Find the square of the piece you’re moving to the square you pasted on. Use either method to get rid of the piece:

• Select a thin area next to the piece that’s taller than the piece. Copy and paste it onto the piece.
• Copy the right-colored square that retains the checkerboard pattern and paste it on the original square, while zooming in to make sure the squares stay intact.
