I like playing openings like this with white.

Another opening I would like to discuss is the Sicilian Defense if anyone has anything on that.

I pretty much use the same structure every time i see the sicilian, its called the english/yusopov attack. I like it because the development is easy and whites attack is very natural, while black sometimes has a hard time getting counterplay fast enough.

It usually results in dynamic unbalanced positions with lots of tactics. Its also nice because you dont really have to know theory, as you can develop the same way against several of blacks setups.

I started playing e4 and have been seeing the caro kann recently so i decided to learn a system against it, I tried out the Fantasy variation, but i didnt like it because if black plays a certain way he can force it into a gambit. So i looked around on youtube for a bit and it turns out dzindzichashvili has done some videos on it. He recommends playing this:

I like the caro-kann but it seems that 2.d4 never happens when I try for it. It is usually something like 2.Nc3 and I don't like that. I guess it would still be a delayed caro-kann but my developement isn't as fast as whites and I get an overwhelming attack thrown at me with tons of pressure.

I never play the black side of the caro kann, I cant standed the cramped positions that result from the advance variation. Same reason why i dont play the french.

Yes, I gave up on the caro-kann. At least until I have a better understanding of it.

I like transposing into the french but I won't play 1..e6

They are both solid defenses that I do want in my arsenal.

I had a game recently where i played the black side of the giouco piano, it seemed as though i misplayed the opening, so i looked at the theory after the game. It turns out that this:

is a critical position where blacks best move is not immediately obvious. Bb4+ is the key move here after which black is still fighting. Some of the variations are:

Its surprisingly easy to go wrong early on in this opening.
