yeah dubbel knight is kinda op ngl, if you are white and know the opnning it's almost game. You can outplay as black but it's very hard to do. Nf3 and e3 is way way more manigable since you can control the dirriction of the game as black. I got 2300 without knowning dubbel knight on a high level so you can def get 2200 if you are good enough.
Opinions on "OP" Openings
Panda, what is "ngl"? Again, you teach me English. :-)
I think this is a tough issue. I don't like the way some resolve it. By accusing their opponent of "spamming" and being obnoxious about it.
I have one opponent who has beaten me with an op opening 2-3 times in a row. My attitude? Find a way around it. Find a way to avoid it. I think there has to be a way. The opening is Nf3 and e3. And that's my fave opening, too. Is that what you're calling double knight?
I've been exploring Nf3 and Nc3. That looks more like double knight to me than Nf3 and e3. I did explore that because I got so much guff on lichess about Nf3 and e3. But I've seen Nf3 and e3 played in a world championship match, and the game was hard fought. I can't remember who won, white or black, but it was not clear for quite a while.
So I have mixed feelings about this. I understand that it's tough to play against. (Nf3 and e3). But other openings are also hard to play against! Nh3. Nf3 and Nc3. e4. These are all difficult openings for black to play, IMO. I'm not entirely sure that Nf3 and e3 is any harder, maybe it's just more heavily analyzed.
i think my openings pretty good for this since its not well known on chess.com yet (i think)
actually eagle thought it was a free win at first XD (its not, its probably only +1 advantage)
nh3 h6 e3 e6 nf4
theres a lot of lines that come from it but i think this openings easier to learn from looking at lichess analysis engine
for me the ideal outcome of opening is nh3 h6 e3 e6 nf4 nc6 qh5 g6 qh4 qxh4 bb5
tlas one is also incredibly good for trapping unsuspecting players
nh3 h6 d4 e6 bg5 f6 bf4 e5 na3 b5 e4 d5 c4 (or c3 works too)
the trap is if black does bg4 (threat on queen) white will do f3 and if black takes f3 to gain the free pawn then white does qg4 (threat of mate on d7) f5 is forced and after qg6+ its forced mate
most of the openings that i play and consider to be useful are the ones that lots of ppl dont play or know
but 2 knights is probably my most played opening despite that lol
if u havent yet, u should learn nh3 lines and try nc3 too (just look at howlind games and u should see all the nc3 lines that are useful)

Yeah, I actually play this as well (or at least, I used to before I forgot all my theory). I've been considering double knights since I'm getting kinda bored of Nh3's no queen stuff.
I'll look at some Nc3 games but tbh in my experience that just leads to like c6 then a transposition into a two knights game.
I've been hearing a lot about overpowered openings and how they can be disrespectful to opponents (mainly from my friend)—specifically, Nf3 and e3, or Two Knights. At a high level, (at least from what I've heard), they essentially become instant-win/draw openings, hence why others tend to play a bit more obscure openings since I plan to maybe push up to 2200 by the end of the summer, what are your opinions for overpowered openings or good openings to learn?
Also, I just hit 2100 blitz, with 2000 rapid coming soon hopefully! (I forgot if it's the first time for me being 2100 or not; whoops)
