hey, i'm interested.
The goal is to find lines for black that achieve equality or close to equal not too hard.
I know a bit as well and will post later as well.
A solid system to deal with the ponzaini:
Please correct me if my analysis is off, or if I missed anything.
I feel like in the ponziani black gets an equal or better position pretty easily.

My personal opinion is playing f5 does not work there because Bc4 is just too strong! I will post analysis of why later (tomorow or day after).
I think white has edge for sure (with proper play) and I think the italian game is more comfortable for black.

You are higher rated than me, and I don't know that opening, so my prejudice for it is probably wrong.
We will clearly not face the Ruy lopez every time, after e4 e5. We could fight the kings gambit, some quiet openings, italian, scotch, Dutch gambit, and much more.
So we need to build up our retribire for other openings (not ruy lopez) and how to play them as black.
