i'm trying to find a live tournament that was played a few weeks ago... when i look through the list of completed tournaments, i have to scroll to the bottom only to find that i can advance by just a single page at a time... Seriously?

This might be better posted in Pagination vs. "More v" control -- V2 was much better in this aspect than V3. thread.

In any case, there is a workaround: the URL of the second page is

https://www.chess.com/tournament/live?page=2

Just replace "2" with a good guess.

For example, this:

https://www.chess.com/tournament/live?page=200

takes you a week back, while this:

https://www.chess.com/tournament/live?page=2000

goes back to mid-March and this:

https://www.chess.com/tournament/live?page=20000

goes to mid-March, 2013.

For lists with this many items, navigation by date would be much preferable, though

Incidentally, note that V2 was limited to 100 pages, so you would not be able to see any completed tournaments older than a couple days ago...

probably... and cheers for the tip.

it's pretty clear the v3 designer doesn't actually use the site, i can't believe how bad it is

Thanks gambit-man! Noted. I have asked about the single-page pagination limit.

Any ETA for fixing this?

Also, the current pagination is broken; see Random behavior of the leaderboard's "More" control.

It's been ticketed!  My guess is before end of month.

i see the leaderboard now has separated pages rather than the endless scrolling...

And that makes you feel...

well... it'll save me a lot of wasted time... especially in cases where the leaderboard stopped prematurely...
