Pairings for rounds 4-6

Why are the pairings for rounds 4-6 based off what the admins think will happen in rounds 1-3?

Shouldn't the pairings for rounds 4-6 depend on what actually happens in rounds 1-3?

No lol

In the NFL they don't change the scheduele midway through, nor does the MLS or NBA

Could you explain to me what the format of these leagues are?

Loosely based off the NFL

Divisions and confrences (like this), and you play your division opponents twice and other teams out of your division for the rest of the games

Saying regular season is 6 weeks for us we play division opponents once and only face other people in our confrence for the remaining 3 games.

Playoffs I'm not the best with

Well, the NFL does it like that because it is important that it is scheduled in advance for obvious reasons. In the NSPCL, it is definitely a lot more fair for the pairings of rounds 4-6 to not depend on what the admins think the results of rounds 1-3 will be, but what they actually are.

So tell me - what is the need for the pairings of rounds 4-6 to be scheduled so long in advance?

And tell me why do they need to swap it around?

You get the schedule and you play that schedule

In the NFL some schedueles are much harder than others.

To make it more fair.

Nothing is fair

Exactly, so why don't we try and make it fair?

Thing is

You shouldn't get punished for being good

Of course not, who said that?

You

If they get switched around to be more "fair" I assume high ranking teams would play high ranking teams

No, higher ranking teams should play lower ranking teams, to make sure that the best teams qualify.

Anyway, if the admins think the current pairings are fair (lets say it's x vs y, a vs b), why can't they wait until they know which teams are x,y,b and a, instead of guessing who they are?

Avatar of NubbyCheeseking

They aren't "guessing"

For example, team A in professional leagues have an easier scheduele than team B.

Why? Luck. Just deal with the scheduele

It doesn't matter what the system is. Whether it is strong vs strong, or strong vs weak, or whatever, there is definitely a system with the pairings that isn't random. This is clear from the statement Season 9 will have seedings made by the admins based on predictive standings.

So, basically what happened, is the admins all guessed what the results will be, and decided what the pairings will be, based off those results. Why can't they wait until they have the actual results before doing that? Their guesses could have been wrong. What is the downside to waiting?
