Playing across the rating range

I dont know if this is because of beta, or apart of chess.com but I played a 1500 (As an 1300), played an 800, then played a 1700. Any reason for this?

you have your outgoing search set to play anyone rather than something like -100 +100

well that's just ramdom stuff and you can change it from setting and select a preferable rating range

It doesn’t matter (or at least I don’t think it does…), it can happen both in and out of tournaments

ExtremeDominance

Even if you lose it should not effect your rating by too much.

in tournaments chess.com will ignore any outgoing challenge preferences, but in normal online play chess.com follows the outgoing challenge preset. for example my outgoing is set to -50 +infinite, so i will play people -50 or anything higher than my rating. however in a tournament this is ignored and i will be put up against whoever is in the queue

Yep

This case happen to me only once when I played against 1900 as 1300.
