I know.  That's how the idea for Olgard was born.  The settlement at L'anse aux Meadows in Newfoundland is still standing.

I don't think they ever actually left, I think they were genetically absorbed.  Innu kids are regularly born blond and blue eyed.  Icelanders have native Canadian genetic markers...
